NEW CLUB RECORD – BETH POTTER running in Palto Alto, California, USA on 1 May, set a new 5000m personal best (15:28.32) which took 8.17 seconds off her 2015 time, and ranks her UK No.3 in 2016. The time eclipses LUCY ELLIOTT’S (15:34.4) which was set on 2 June 1997.

UK YOUTH DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE SOUTHERN PREMIER 1 – The first fixture of four took place on Sunday 1 May at Eton (Late change of venue from Reading).
Thanks to all our officials who not only did a great job but also contributed 55 points towards our points total. Although the final 4th place was disappointing, We had some fantastic results and loads of PBs from a very young team. many athletes had to work very hard in taking on extra events at short notice to cover as many gaps as possible. We had a number of our middle distance athletes absent due to illness and exams so I’m sure when we get out our “normal” team next time on Sunday 29 May at Bromley we will move up the table. however we have some structural weaknesses in Steeplechase for example that need to be remedied.

VITALITY LONDON 10K – Takes place on Monday 30 May. The Vitality London 10,000 starts and finishes in St James’s Park and uses Green Park as its assembly area.
The race starts on The Mall and finishes on Spur Road opposite Buckingham Palace. Runners follow a clockwise route around the City of Westminster and the City of London. It passes many of London’s famous sights including Admiralty Arch, Nelson’s Column, St Paul’s Cathedral, Mansion House, the Bank of England, the Old Bailey, Somerset House, Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey.
