BOXING DAY – There is only one place to spend Boxing Day morning and that is at the Club house in Allianz Park for the annual Boxing Day run.  Start is at 11am so be there at 10.30 or just before to register.  Entry fee for the run is just £1 and there are prizes for each age group male and female winners could win £5000.  Free  Hot drinks, a raffle with magnificent prizes donated by members.

Just received information on the following – MIDDLESEX CHAMPIONSHIPS which is on Saturday 15 March and Sunday 16 March at Lee Valley. Entry fee £5 per event, No under 13s. Entries close on Friday 28 February (Entry form attached). The HERTFORDSHIRE and KENT championships take place at the same meeting (awaiting entry forms).

KYLIE ROBILLIARD SELECTED FOR COMMONWEALTH GAMES – Kylie has been selected to compete for Guernsey in next year’s games in Glasgow. On speaking to Kylie she is pumped up and exited on her selection, and she has achieved the selection criteria required (14.6) on numerous occasions this year with her best in 2013 (13.69). Kylie hopes to be running in the region of 13.3’ and 2’s next season in preparation for the games.

RACHEL FELTON SELECTED FOR ENGLAND – Rachel has been selected to run for England in the Belgium Cross Cup event in Brussels on Sunday 22 December. The selectors have picked athletes that did not go to Belgrade for the European Championships in an effort to give further athletes the opportunity for top class competition.

Special congratulations to John Kelly on reaching his 60th birthday on Tuesday 10 December

20TH EUROPEAN CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS – Congratulations to RICHARD GOODMAN and MICHAEL CALLEGARI on their performances in a somewhat cold Belgrade. RICHARD was 2nd in the U20 race in 2011, also the GB&NI won the team Gold Medal. This year  running in the U23 race he also won an excellent team Gold Medal, and was 5th man home finishing in 21st place (24.41). MICHAEL was third GB finisher in the junior race, finishing in 22nd place (18.35), the team just missed out on a medal finishing in 4th place.

We have realistic chances of medals in both teams, with RICHARD in the Under-23 team and MICHAEL in the Under-20 team.
