MENS NATIONAL 12 STAGE ROAD RELAYS – Took place in Sutton Park, Birmingham on 11 April.

Congratulations to the Senior Men’s team, which, with SIMON KEENE guiding the team in the absence of TONY JACKSON who is in Florida, finished in 9th place, our best for quite some time!

RONAN BREEN came up to Birmingham, just in case something happened on the day, in order to complete a team. Fortunately it didn’t, apart from a slight jiggling of the early running order. Also, MATTHEW GRANT had a small problem with his hamstring on Friday, but couldn’t drop out, or we wouldn’t have had a team, so that led to a bit of rejigging on the Friday night on the Long Legs

The race consists of 6 Long Legs of (8.96km) odd numbered Legs, and 6 Short Legs of (5.14km) even numbered Legs.

The positions shown are the team position after the finish of that Leg.

LONDON INTER CLUB CHALLENGE ANNOUNCEMENT The London Inter Club Challenge (LICC) and the newly founded London Colleges Athletics Series (LCAS) have pleasure in announcing that they have agreed to promote their next events jointly at Lee Valley Athletics Centre on SUNDAY 19 APRIL. LICC and LCAS, are both supported by England Athletics, and will be working together to stage this highly innovative meeting which is estimated will attract over 350 athletes.

The competition is graded, has electronic timing on the track and EDM in the field. Registration is now open to London University students to compete in LCAS (www.london-athletics.com/registration) and closes on 12 April. More information at www.london-athletics.com and http://londonathletics.org/licc

Commenting on this development, TONY SHIRET, (England Athletics London Region Joint Chairman) “Many organisations throughout the UK have talked about bridging the gap between college sport and the traditional athletics clubs, so we are very proud that here in London we have taken the initiative of actually doing something rather than simply talking about it. We wish the organisers and the athletes the best of luck in a day of Track and Field athletics at one of London’s leading venues.”

Attached is updated timetable for all LICC and LCAS events. Remember Entry Is Free For SBH Members for more information visit http://londonathletics.org/licc
