EASTERN YOUNG ATHLETICS LEAGUE – The final fixture of the season took place at Allianz Park on Sunday 5 August.
What a spectacular finish to the season, with the team finishing as worthy League Champions. Congratulations to all those athletes who have competed throughout season, also to our Team Managers whose due diligent in getting our athletes to each fixture has been exceptional, plus a special thanks to JOYCE SMITH OBE who will be standing down after the Top 6 Final at Ipswich on Sunday 2 September after so many years of service to our Young Athletes.

Also, a special thanks to all our officials who represent the club week in and week, especially with the extreme weather we have had this Summer. Finally, to all those parents who bring their sons and daughters, also helping out on the day, we appreciate it.

The team battered our opposition winning by an unbelievable 164 points, also we had record 71 individual wins on the day, plus a clean sweep of the 6 relays reflects the outstanding talent we have in our Young Athletes age-group.

BRITISH ATHLETICS LEAGUE PREMIERSHIP – Took place at Allianz Park on Saturday 4 August.
A solid team performance saw the men’s team finish the season with a close 4th place in the final match which secured a clear 2nd in the 2018 Premiership.

The 800m welcomed back BEN ROCHFORD in his first track race after long term injury which resulted in over 2 years off the track. Likewise, we welcomed back OMAR PARSONS in the 400m this time after long term illness. KIERAN CLEMENTS had an impressive BAL debut with an SB in the 1500m. However, the most impressive track performance of the day came from another BAL debutant when World Junior 200m Silver medallist CHARLIE DOBSON, won the 100m “B” race in 10.32.

CURRENT DISTRIBUTION OF SHAFTESBURY INFORMATION Currently I notify members (by email) using “MailChimp”. The reason I changed, was in November last year “Gmail” put a limit of 100 addresses that users could send to in a 24-hour period, and currently I send to approximately 850 members each issue.

On seeking technical advice “MailChimp” was recommended as the best way for SBH to go forward. There is one thing you should be aware off is that when you receive an email from me, the footer at the bottom has 4 options, of which one is “Unsubscribe Me From List”. Could I ask you not to select this as if you do you will be automatically removed from my distribution list.

SBH PRIVACY STATEMENT – In becoming a member, SBH will collect certain information about you. Can you please read the attached ‘Privacy Statement’ which contains Information on General Data Protection Regulations  SBH Privacy Statement Final April 2018
