RACHEL FELTON EXCELS FOR ENGLAND – The Lotto Cross Cup at Hannut , Belgium on 25 January. Held over a course covered in snow and slush the England runners raced well. 

The Senior Women’s race saw Belgian Louise Caston win in 22.04, over a course where they had to negotiate a number of small hurdles.  England’s lead runner was Rebecca Murray of Bedford & County in 5th place (22.43), next came RACHEL FELTON 8th, 7 seconds down on Rebecca.

 NATHAN FOX COMPETED FOR ENGLANDNATHAN (Coach FRANK ATTOH) competed in Bratislava, Slovakia on 1 February. In his first competition in 2015, he won the Triple Jump with a (SB 15.75m)  

SBH HIGH JUMPERS GO HEAD TO HEAD – The Scottish Indoor Championships took place in Glasgow last Sunday. The High Jump ended up with ALLAN SMITH winning the Gold Medal on countback from fellow club mate DAVID SMITH who both cleared (2.25m). This was ALLAN’S personal best indoors which was (2.24m) which he jumped on 17 January. DAVID’S jump equalled his personal best which he recorded at Loughborough in May 2014, his personal best indoors was also (2.24m) which he recorded just over a year ago.Alan Smith HJ

In the Shot ANGUS MCINROY won the Silver Medal with a put of (14.10m)

NORTH WEST LONDON LEAGUE MATCH 4 – Took place last Saturday at Harrow. It was a very cold day taking into account the wind chill factor. It proved to be another excellent all round performance from our Young Athletes, especially as we had some of our athletes competing in the Hertfordshire Schools XC Championships on the same day.

We had 3 Individual wins from – U11 Girls MAAYAN RADUS, U13 Boys FINN HARVEY and U17 Women GABRIELLA KYRIACOU.

 The League Tables after 4 fixtures are my assessment. The U11 Girls stay in 1st place and now have a lead of 96 points over Highgate Harriers. The U11 Boys have dropped to 2nd place 22 points behind Highgate Harriers. The U13 Girls slipped down to 3rd place but are only 7 points behind Harrow. The U13 Boys have now taken over 1st place and are now 18 points ahead of Highgate Harriers. The U15 Girls are now in 2nd place overall and are 18 points behind Thames Valley Harriers. The U15 Boys slipped down to 5thplace. The U17 Women stay in 1st place and have increased their lead over Thames Valley Harriers from 23 to 27 points. The U17 Men slipped from 8th to 9th place.

The final North West London League fixture takes place on Saturday 28 March at Wormwood Scrubs, which is the Club XC Championship race for the Under 11 Boys and Girls.

FEBRUARY HALF TERM CAMPS AT ALLIANZ PARKYou will get the opportunity to be coached by some of our elite athletes and high quality coaches. Individuals can expect to cover a range of athletics disciplines over the course of the camp in this world class facility. With the use of our 70m Olympic indoor track with other indoor facilities including a jumps pit, high jump and pole vault facility this promises to be a great experience for any young athlete wishing to develop their athletic disciplines.

MASTERS ROAD RELAYS – Takes place at Sutton Park, Birmingham on Saturday 16 May. I have decided as a one off to organise in getting a Men’s team or two toeing the line. The categories are 35+ (6 to a team), 45+ (4), 55+ (3), ages are on the day of the race. Athletes in older age-groups may compete in a younger age-group. The next step is to EMAIL ME whether you wish to compete, or not. MAGGIE will be contacting her Women.

LONDON BOROUGH OF BARNET MINI LONDON MARATHON TRIAL – Please remember each athlete has to register with Ian Bannister before they can compete in the trial on 28 February.

ACTIVE TRAINING WORLD METROPOLITAN LEAGUE – The fifth and final fixture takes place on Saturday 7 February at Wormwood Scrubs, Linford Christie Stadium, Du Cane Road (SatNav W12 0AE). Enter main car park off Du Cane Road (via Artillery Lane), through 6’6” height/width barrier. Extra parking will be available in the enclosed/fenced hospital parking area. Parking is free in all areas at the week-end.

SENIOR MEN and WOMEN on a league table system with points awarded at each race, with the best 4 race points total to count. PRIZES are 1st place £575, 2nd place £400, 3rd place £325, 4th place £250, 5th place £200, 6th place £150 and 7th place £100.
