ACTIVE TRAINING WORLD METROPOLITAN LEAGUE – The final fixture took place on Saturday 7 February at Wormwood Scrubs. The conditions was overcast with a light breeze, with the temperature around 6 degrees. The going was good to soft (heavy in places).

This has proved to be yet again another successful season for Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers. Both our U13 Boys/.Girls and U15/U17 Boys/Girlsn teams dominated the season by defending the HOWARD WILLIAMS TROPHY (JUNIORS) which is based on the final league positions of the 4 teams. The U13 Girls won the league convincingly, the U13 Boys and U15/U17 Girls/women finished in 2nd place, and finally the U15/U17 Boys/Men finished in 5th place. In the HOWARD WILLIAMS TROPHY (SENIORS) we finished in 3rd place with the Senior Women finishing in 2nd place, and the Senior Men finished in 4th place.

Congratulations to FINN HARVEY (U13) who has won all five races this season. There were also wins from MAAYAN RADUS (U11), LIA RADUS (U13), GABRIELLA KYRIACOU (U17) and NAOMI TASCHIMOWITZ (Senior Women).

On a personal note, and I am sure on behalf of our athletes, would like to thank our Team Managers and Helpers for all they have done throughout the season. Especially at the end of a race, recording our finishers with the rain pouring down on a soggy result sheet

Also a special thanks to the Parents who make sure Johnny or Julie get to the line, and final the supporters who make their presence felt.
