NATIONAL CROSS COUNTRY RELAYS – Which took place at Mansfield on Saturday 31 October.

THE LONDON CHAMPIONSHIPS AND YOUTH GAMES – Takes place this Saturday 14 November at Parliament Hill Fields, Hampstead Heath (SatNav NW5 1QR)
START FITNESS METROPOLITAN LEAGUE – The second fixture of five took place last Saturday 7 November at Stevenage, Hertfordshire. Firstly congratulations to the following Club Champions – Under 20 Men KHALID-ALI AHMED, 5 Miles Senior Men RICHARD GOODMAN and Masters 40+ Men ROBERT RIGBY.
The weather was somewhat depressing, strong winds and driving rain, and in most races fifty percent was into the wind/rain. We had a very good day with numbers up, especially the Senior Men. We had 3 Individual winners, SAMUEL GREENSTEIN (U11), NAOMI TASCHIMOWITZ (Senior Women) and RICHARD GOODMAN (Senior Men), after both NAOMI and RICHARD won the first fixture at Claybury. Also our Under 15/17 Women’s team repeated their resounding win they had at Claybury, the Under 15/17 Men’s team finished in a good 5th place. The Senior Women secured 2nd place, and 4th place after two fixtures, only 12 points behind the 2nd team London Heathside. Finally the Senior Men toed the line with 19 runners, and finished up in a superb 3rd place, beating Serpentine, which is the first time that has happened for quite a while.
Regarding GABRIELLA KYRIACOU, unfortunately whilst leading the Under 17 race by some distance, she was mis-directed by a course official and lost some 300m.
Under 11 Girls – 1600m ELOISE PALMER 14th (7.53), ANNA MURPHY 17th (7.58), 29 runners finished, the winner was Lydia Louw of Hillingdon (6.50).
Under 11 Boys – 1600m SAMUEL GREENSTEIN 1st (6.26), 31 runners finished
Under 13 Girls – 3200m ELENA RONCARTI 12th (15.13), LOUANN LAMY 35th (16.47), EMILY MURPHY 56th (21.12), 56 runners finished, the winner was Ava White of Thames Valley Harriers (14.24). NEW RECORD FIELDS – In the Senior Women’s race there were 218 finishers, the previous best was 198 at Claybury on 10 October 2014. In the Senior Men’s race there were 447 finishers, the previous best was 442 at Stevenage on 8 November 2014. In the Under 17 Women with 25 finishers, the previous best was 22 at Claybury on 19 October 2013. Finally the Under 13 Girls with 56 finishers, the previous best was 48 at Wormwood Scrubs on 8 February 2014.

THE RENOVATION WORKS AT THE SHAFTESBURY BARNET HARRIERS CLUB HOUSE ARE GOING TO PLAN – Middlesex University have arranged for the weights equipment to be fitted this week. We are told by the contractors that all building works will be complete by Thursday of this week when formal handover will take place. We are still waiting for the estimate for the works to the roof which will now be a project undertaken later in the year. There will also be a change of access and use, with a Photo/Card entry system on all 3 doors (2 external and 1 internal). Information on how to register for the new entry system will be published next week.

125TH SBH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING – Takes place on Tuesday 24 November at Allianz Park, Greenlands Lane, Hendon, London (SatNav NW4 1RL), in the East Stand Fez Bar, tea, coffee and biscuits will be available. The AGM commences at 7.30pm, followed at approximately 8.00pm with the Presentation of Awards for the 2014/2015 Cross Country and 2015 Track & Field for both Male and Female athletes.
