I have been informed that due to the many outstanding performances throughout the year, the decisions taken were extremely hard. BRITISH MALE – ZHARNEL HUGHES Improved his PB to 20.02 when finishing in fifth place in the World 200m final to consolidate his position at third on the UK all-time list.
BRITISH JUNIOR MALE – OJIE EDOBURUN Won the 100m Gold at the European Junior Championships and bronze at the senior British Championships. GEORGE EVANS Claimed Commonwealth Youth Games discus silver and world youth bronze. Was sixth in the shot putt final at the Commonwealth Youth Games.
KYLE LANGFORD Claimed European junior gold medal and won the British senior title. Moved to third on the UK all-time junior list with his 1:45.78 PB which ranked him second on the senior list in 2015. Represented GB at the World Championships. TOMMY RAMDHAN The up-and-coming sprinter claimed the European junior 200m title.
BRITISH VETERAN – ANTHONY WHITEMAN Ran world age-43 bests of1:48.81 at 800m and 3:43.99 at 1500m and won a 800m and 1500m double at World Masters.

LIDDIARD TROPHY AND NORTH OF THE THAMES CHAMPIONSHIPS – Took place on Saturday 24 October at Kingsbury. Following his win in the Metropolitan League RICHARD GOODMAN won the duel Championships by 1 minute and 18 seconds. GABRIELLA KYRIACOU U17 won the Under 17 Championships. RICHARD also won the London Universities race last Wednesday, see results below.
Senior/U20/U17 Women – (3 Miles) GABRIELLA KYRIACOU U17 2nd (17.36) winning the Under 17 Championships. 55 runners finished, the winner was Alexandra Gounelas of Eton Manor (17.12). Team result Liddiard Trophy 1st Ealing, Southall & Middlesex (20 points), 2nd Serpentine (23), 3rd Eton Manor (28), North of the Thames 1st Serpentine (40 points), 2nd Ealing, Southall & Middlesex (44), 3rd Eton Manor (55).

Applications are invited for grants from the Ron Pickering Memorial Fund from young track and field athletes who are in education and may need financial help towards training or provision of equipment. To be considered, Applicants must be aged between 15 and 23 years, medallists from their National Schools AA, AAA U17, & U20 or U23 Championships or in the top six of the appropriate UK ranking lists.
Also the Arthur J.C.Kendall Memorial Trust, The Trustees will only consider applications from youths, or for projects which are entirely concerned with youths. Applications from persons or beneficiaries aged 21 and over will NOT be considered.
SOUTHERN MASTERS CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS – Well the response has been ‘A LITTLE SLOW’ so come on guys give it some serious thought, and email your commitment to me please. THE RENOVATION WORKS AT THE SHAFTESBURY BARNET HARRIERS CLUB HOUSE ARE GOING TO PLAN – The air conditioning units have been fitted as have the new light fittings. A new Club sign has been ordered and will now be over the entrance door trackside. The three large additional windows have been fitted as has the new flooring. The new portacabin next to the Clubhouse has had the SBH cardio-vascular equipment moved into it and will also be used as a lecture room for the Middlesex University students taking Sports Science degrees. We are told by the contractors that the works will probably take a further week or so, which includes the redecoration. We are still waiting for the estimate for the works to the roof. In addition, Middlesex University will be supplying new weights equipment. There will also be a change of access and use, with a Photo/Card entry system on all 3 doors (2 external and 1 internal). Information on how to register for the Photo/Card entry system will be published shortly.

Directions from the A1(M) leave at Junction 7, A602 to Stevenage. Follow the A602, Broadhall Way to the second roundabout. Turn left onto Monkswood Way and go to the next roundabout. Turn right onto Six Hills Way and follow for almost 1 mile. Turn left into park, sign-posted Sailing Centre. The course is on the other side of Six Hills Way and there is an underpass under the road. Numbers will be given out on the course.
