FROM MEL ELLIS – Thought I’d drop you a line to let you know that I’m cycling from London to Paris with my brother to raise money for the hospice which took great care of my dad during the last two weeks of his life. I’m completely out of my comfort zone as I’m no cyclist, long distance running is so much easier, to me anyway. I don’t know whether this is appropriate but wondered if there were any members of Shaftesbury Barnet who would be interested in sponsoring me. If so this is the link to my Just Giving page http://www.justgiving.com/melanie-ellis1 Mel has been a member of Shaftesbury since 1995 running mainly on the road, and ran 2:46.55 in the 1998 Boston Marathon.

ENGLAND ATHLETICS CONSULTATION SURVEY NOW LIVE – Following the conclusion of the 2014 England Athletics Regional Club conference series, England Athletics committed to consulting the wider sport on the key issues that were raised. A short survey that covers these topics is now live.  Click here to go to the survey

The survey covers topics that include England Athletics’ finances, affiliation and registration fees, the possible reintroduction of unattached levies, England Athletics’ functional priorities and registered athlete benefits.

In order to shape the way England Athletics works in the future, it is vitally important that as many athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers as possible take the time to respond. Before doing so, please visit www.englandathletics.org/consultation where the notes and information from the Club Conferences can be found.

You can also click here for details and an explanation of England Athletics’ financial position.

The results of the survey will inform decisions made by the England Athletics board for 2015-16 and beyond.
