HENRY DOVER 3000m – Thursday 29 AugustHENRY race was a straight final, finishing in 21st place (9:14.73). TIM, HENRY’S father told me that things did not go to plan for HENRY, after working towards Worlds for months and after putting in an incredible effort at Loughborough to qualify, he unfortunately came down with food poisoning the day of the race but battled on.
He is still suffering now, some four days on….

HENRY DOVER NOW IN THE USA – HENRY has now taken up a scholarship at Oklahoma State University. OSU is located in northeast Oklahoma, Stillwater is just 60 miles from both Oklahoma City and Tulsa. OSU has around 26,000 students from over 100 countries and 50 states. Academically OSU covers many subjects from Aerospace, Art, Maths & Technology, Health & Medicine etc. Athletics, known as the Cowboys and Cowgirls, and compete in Division1, Big 12 Conference.

I contacted HENRY who updated me on his Lima experience and his immediate future – “Yes I have had a very rough week with food poisoning which is a big shame as I was going for a medal. I am studying exercise science, will take me about 4 years. OSU are current NCAA champions on cross country so the best in the country. I will be competing a few times here before returning for European trials in Liverpool”.

RESULTS
Just to clarify, that the results I publish can be different to those that are shown on the Power of 10. The differences relate to seasons and personal best performances. For example in the recent EYAL results, an athlete in the 200m ran (24.1), and on his profile his season’s best was shown as (23.88) indoors. As the 200m indoors and outdoors are totally different type of events, I had shown the (24.1) as a season’s best.
The Power of 10 publishes separate UK rankings for indoor and outdoor performances.

CURRENT DISTRIBUTION OF SHAFTESBURY INFORMATION Currently I notify members (by email) using “MailChimp”. The reason I changed, was in November 2017 “Gmail” put a limit of 100 addresses that users could send to in a 24-hour period, and currently I send to approximately 850 members each issue.

On seeking technical advice “MailChimp” was recommended as the best way for SBH to go forward. There is one thing you should be aware off is that when you receive an email from me, the footer at the bottom has 4 options, of which one is “Unsubscribe Me From List”. Could I ask you not to select this as if you do you will be automatically removed from my distribution list.
