BRIGHTON MARATHON – Congratulations to TONY JACKSON who in his first year as an over 50 finished 1st V50, he was 39th overall in a time of (2:51.25.77), there were 7,743 runners.
MIDDLESEX YOUNG ATHLETES LEAGUE (UNDER 11/13/15/17 MEN/WOMEN) – The first fixture of four takes place on Saturday 22 April at the Perivale Park Athletic Track, Stockdove Way, Perivale (Satnav UB6 8TJ).
Public Transport: Served by Bus 297 and E5. Nearest Station is South Greenford Overground trains every 30 minutes from either Ealing Broadway or Greenford – both on the Central Line. Nearest Underground Station is Perivale Central Line which is about 15 minutes’ walk away.
Parking: There is very limited room in the car park beside the track and this will fill very quickly from early morning with people going to the golf course in the park. There is plenty of free parking along Stockdove and the overflow carpark before the railway bridge should be open.
Directions from major roads: Just off the A40 Western Avenue at the Perivale underpass. A 10 minute drive from Hanger Lane and the North Circular Rd. For those using the M25 at Junction 16, exit onto A40 towards Uxbridge/London (West), Perivale underpass approximately 15 minutes.

LEADING MALE BRITISH CROSS COUNTRY RANKINGS 2016-2017 – Published in this week’s Athletics Weekly, and are their assessment of form and honours over the winter months. Precedence is given to the major events but various win-loss records are taken into account. Note, they do not ascertain rankings from league races or relay events but have included some results from the English cross-country relays.
Senior Men – 1st CALLUM HAWKINS Highlight – European bronze. Scottish champion, only did one race after Christmas but did easily enough for top spot – 18th RICHARD HORTON Highlight – Home Counties International win. Had a strong season throughout.
Under 17 Men – 1st ZAK MAHAMED Highlight – Inter Counties Victory. A few reverses but three major titles means he is a ranking topper for fourth year running. – 8th GEORGE GROOM Highlight – National and Southern bronze, also won the Hertfordshire title. – 9th JEREMY DEMPSEY Highlight – Southern Inter-Counties win over Mahamed. A strong season ending with top-six at English Schools. – 15th ELLIOT DEE Highlight – Liverpool fourth. National twelfth and Hertfordshire Schools fourth.
Under 15 Boys – 1st JOSHUA DICKINSON Highlight – Inter Counties gold. An easy choice for first with good runs in all major events. – 2nd KRISTIAN IMROTH Highlight – National gold. A consistent season winning the Hertfordshire title and bronze in the Southern.

SARACENS SPORT FOUNDATION – Little athletics programme is an athletics ‘Multi Skills’ programme for children aged 4-9 years. The programme is designed to teach children fundamental movement skills of athletics – running, jumping and throwing. The sessions are game based and as of September there will be a progression throughout the term.
LAP runs on a Tuesday and Thursday from 4.30-5.30pm – Term time only.
1st Legacy athletics club is a pathway club for children aged 10-15 years new to athletics. Children are introduced to all the different athletics disciplines and have the opportunity to develop running, jumping and running skills that we hope they will then go onto use as a participant in the formal athletics club structure or in any other sport for activity they choose to progress to. The lead coach is Gintare Dargeviciute who brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the club.
1st Leg AC runs on a Tuesday and Thursday from 5.00–6.00pm – Term time only.
