NATIONAL CROSS COUNTRY RELAY CHAMPIONSHIPS – Took place on Saturday 3 November at Mansfield.
The course and weather was excellent, as were our results. Congratulations on a splendid turnout throughout the age-groups with the Under 17 Women fielding 3 teams.
Our Under 17 Men carried on their successes of the past 6 weeks, where they finished 6th and 3rd respectively in the Southern/National road relays, and 2 weeks ago won the Southern/ cross country relays. At Mansfield, the team of FINN HARVEY, DAVID STONE and KRISTIAN IMROTH finished strongly to secure the bronze medals, after a solid start from FINN, DAVID ran the 4th fastest time of the day (It is actually 2nd as Leg 1 is shorter than the remaining Legs, around 8 seconds) moving the team up to 4th place leaving KRISTIAN to catch and pass Leeds City for National bronze medals.

IAAF DIAMOND LEAGUE REVEALS ROAD TO THE 2019 FINALS – The following article was published on the Athletics Weekly website recently.
The IAAF has announced the distribution of Diamond League disciplines for the 2019 season, confirming where and when athletes will contest each event in the 14-meet series.
The 10th season of the series will again commence in Doha, Qatar, on May 3, with the 32 Diamond League event disciplines spread across the 14 meetings.
Athletes earn points in the first 12 meetings to qualify for the finals where, as in a championship, the performance of athletes in the final alone will determine who the champion will be.
At the two final meetings, held in Zurich on August 29 and Brussels on September 6, $100,000 will be at stake in each of the 32 disciplines, including $50,000 for each winner plus a Diamond Trophy.
The first meeting in Doha will include both the men’s and women’s 200m and 800m events, plus the men’s 1500m and women’s 3000m. The women’s 100m hurdles, 400m hurdles, high jump and long jump will also feature, along with the men’s 3000m steeplechase, pole vault, shot put and discus.
In total, some Diamond League event disciplines will feature at six meetings before the final, while others will feature at four.
For example, the men’s 100m will be held in Shanghai, Oslo, Eugene, Monaco, London and Birmingham before the final in Zurich. In the women’s 1500m, athletes will be able to pick up points in Shanghai, Rome, Rabat, Monaco, London and Birmingham as they also compete for a place in the Zurich final.
The men’s long jump is included in the event programmes for meetings in Shanghai, Stockholm, Rabat and Lausanne, while the women’s javelin will feature at Shanghai, Rome, Lausanne and

CURRENT DISTRIBUTION OF SHAFTESBURY INFORMATION – Currently I notify members (by email) using “MailChimp”. The reason I changed, was in November last year “Gmail” put a limit of 100 addresses that users could send to in a 24-hour period, and currently I send to approximately 850 members each issue.
On seeking technical advice “MailChimp” was recommended as the best way for SBH to go forward. There is one thing you should be aware off is that when you receive an email from me, the footer at the bottom has 4 options, of which one is “Unsubscribe Me From List”. Could I ask you not to select this as if you do you will be automatically removed from my distribution list.
