SOUTHERN INDOOR COMBINED EVENTS CHAMPIONSHIPS – Congratulations to DYLAN CARLSSON-SMITH U20 who won the Southern Heptathlon Silver Medal at Lee Valley last Saturday/Sunday. DYLAN finished with a personal best (4569 Points) adding 329 points to his January total which was the England Championships, and now ranks him UK No.7 U20 in 2015. In the Pentathlon NENE HARRISON V35 finished 9th (2nd V35 2141 Points), also our Under 15 Girls CRISTINA POTTER and HOLLY TAYLOR competed in their first ever Pentathlon. Full results below

BOXING DAY RUN – Takes place from the Clubhouse in Allianz Park on Saturday 26 December. A run for all the family to run off the Christmas dinner, and Bryan is confident we may have near to 100 participants. Fancy dress is optional also family pets will be welcome. The race starts at 11.00am, and will cover a distance of 2 miles, 1mile for under 11s.

Entry fee £1 – Prizes, Raffle and Refreshments (donations to the raffle welcome).

SHAFTESBURY BARNET HARRIERS WEBSITE – Currently we anticipate having the final version of the Website live by the end of March 2016. Over the past two months, myself, Hugh Richards, Geoff Morphitis, Tony Sunderland, Clyde Gordon and Ross Sambrook have reviewed and agreed what changes we wanted. We met the software provider CodeMe:Velvet in early December, and anticipate having the updated version available to us in mid-January.

In early January I will present/explain certain sections of the Website on a weekly basis

VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED IN 2016 – I know Christmas is not quite upon us yet, but Ray and Clare Powell are sending you an early Christmas present.

Ray and Clare took on the role this year of organising volunteers for the 4 races, and your support was superb. We are proud to be involved in these races for many years, and the financial support the club receives is most welcome.

2016 races are – London Mini Marathon 24 April, Westminster Mile 29 May, (Bupa) 10k 30 May (This will be a different sponsor this year, bat at the moment name unknown), Standard Chartered Great City Race 7 July.

MIDDLESEX CHAMPIONSHIPS – Takes place on Saturday 9 January at Wormwood Scrubs, Linford Christie Stadium, Du Cane Road (SatNav W12 0AE). Enter main car park off Du Cane Road (via Artillery Lane), through 6’6” height/width barrier. Extra parking will be available in the enclosed/fenced hospital parking area. Parking is free in all areas at the week-end. HERTFORDSHIRE CHAMPIONSHIPS – Takes place on Sunday 10 January at Fairlands Valley, Stevenage. Changing is at the Sailing Centre, Fairlands Valley Park, Six Hills Way, Stevenage (Satnav SG2 0BL). Directions from the A1(M) leave at Junction 7, A602 to Stevenage. Follow the A602, Broadhall Way to the second roundabout. Turn left onto Monkswood Way and go to the next roundabout. Turn right onto Six Hills Way and follow for almost 1 mile. Turn left into park, sign-posted Sailing Centre. The nearest car park is off Six Hills Way, signposted Sailing Centre.

CHARGES FOR USING ALLIANZ PARK – The current charges for using Allianz Park are as follows – Adult Daily entry fee £4.00 – Junior (U18) Daily entry fee £2.00 – Concession (Students and Over 65) Daily entry fee £3.00.

As a member of Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers you can apply for a form which will give you membership of Allianz Park, you can pick up the form from the reception at Allianz Park. Any official coach of Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers gains entry free of charge.

Charges for those with a membership form are as follows – Adult Daily entry fee £3.60, Monthly fee £22.00, Annual fee £264.00 – Junior (U18) Daily entry fee £1.80, Monthly fee £11.00, Annual fee £132.00 – Concession (Students and Over 65) Daily entry fee £2.70, Monthly fee £16.50, Annual fee £198.00.
