START FITNESS METROPOLITAN LEAGUE – The final fixture took place last Saturday at Trent Park, with the weather being overcast and the conditions underfoot quite heavy.

Congratulations to all on an excellent season, especially seeing many of our recent new members making their presence felt.

On the day GIANLEO STUBBS U11 made it a clean sweep winning all 5 of the fixtures, he was ably backed all season by THOMAS CADWALLADER, ANDONI AMPHLETT and JAMES BYRNES winning the team result, which meant they are the Under 11 League Champions by a clear 58 points.

Under 11 Girls Team – With ever present EVIE REDPATH and OLIVE HARVEY-DEW finished their highest position of the season in 3rd place, with 9 Girls running of which 4 where recent new members. Their final position of 8th is largely to the first fixture at Claybury where we had no runners, but next season should see the Girls fighting for top honours.

Under 13 Boys Team – Have been consistent all season led by SAMUEL GREENSTEIN and THEO BODEN the team packed well to take 2nd place behind the eventual League winners Woodford Green with Essex Ladies. By beating Herts Phoenix we managed to move above them and become League runners-up.

Under 13 Girls Team – Had a not to good start in which it was hard to recovers, the team had 3 ever presents REBECCA JEFFERY, ANNA MURPHY and LOUISA STAAB finished 6th on Saturday and 6th in the final League tables. At Wormwood Scrubs AIMI WEIGHTMAN ran her only appearance of the season, and won by a considerable distance.

Under 15 Boys/Under 17 Men’s Team – Had a consistent season, and at Uxbridge just before Christmas we came away in 2nd place with 13 runners toeing the line, THOMAS PATRICK won a close race by 5 seconds. We were just short of numbers at Wormwood Scrubs which meant the team finished the season in 3rd place. There were 3 ever-presents JOSEPH HEATHER, DYLAN HEPWORTH and BEN KELLY.

Under 15 Girls/Under 17 Women’s Team – Were awesome throughout the season, and from the first fixture at Claybury they applied the pressure on the 4 remaining fixtures, and become League champions by some 192 points. GRACE INGLES and LIA RADUS had 2 wins, also LIDIA KYRIACOU and SOPHIA STAAB each had a win. There were 2 ever-presents ELENA RONCARATI and SOPHIA STAAB and at Uxbridge we had 15 runners.

Senior Men’s Team – Although we had many excellent performances, but due to lack of numbers you get punished team wise, and they finished in 6th place overall. Individually RICHARD GOODMAN won 3 races and was 2nd on Saturday, securing the 1st prize of top Individual. Also THOMAS BUTLER has been equally impressive by winning the Under 20 title, and finished 5th on Saturday. THOMAS and PHILIP CUNNINGHAM were the only ever-presents.

Senior Women’s Team – Suffered with lack of numbers and finished in 10th place overall. Individually NAOMI TASCHIMOWITZ won 1 race and was 3rd in her next race, VICTORIA PRITCHARD has a 2nd and 3rd place.
