KYLIE ROBILLIARD SELECTED FOR COMMONWEALTH GAMES – Kylie has been selected to compete for Guernsey in next year’s games in Glasgow. On speaking to Kylie she is pumped up and exited on her selection, and she has achieved the selection criteria required (14.6) on numerous occasions this year with her best in 2013 (13.69). Kylie hopes to be running in the region of 13.3’ and 2’s next season in preparation for the games.

RACHEL FELTON SELECTED FOR ENGLAND – Rachel has been selected to run for England in the Belgium Cross Cup event in Brussels on Sunday 22 December. The selectors have picked athletes that did not go to Belgrade for the European Championships in an effort to give further athletes the opportunity for top class competition.

JAMIE HARPER’S RUN CONTINUES – The Southern Inter Counties & Masters Championships took place last Saturday in Biggleswade.

JAMIE HARPER U13 run of top class wins continued by talking the Gold Medal, SOPHIA PARVIZI-WAYNE U17 claimed the Silver Medal only 1 second behind the winner. There were top 10 finishes from GEORGE GROOM U15 (4th) and ROBBIE LIGHTOWLER U17 (6th).

Under 13 Boys JAMIE HARPER U13 1st (10.23), HENRY FULTON U13 27th (11.13), Sussex won the team title with 31 points (2,8,10,11), Hertfordshire were 5th with 77 points (1,7,27,42), 90runners finished

Under 13 Girls MIA GROOM U13 51st (12.29), the winner was Josie Czura of City of Portsmouth (11.04), Surrey won the team title with 39 points (5,8,11,15), Hertfordshire were 9th with 146 points (3,38,51,54), 89 runners finished

Under 15 Boys GEORGE GROOM U15 4th (12.38), JEREMY DEMPSEY U15 24th (13.13), ELLIOT DEE U15 36th (13.27), TOM FULTON U15 37th (13.28), the winner was Canaan Soloman of Woodford Green (12.24), Kent won the team title with 29 points (2,3,11,13), Hertfordshire were 2nd with 41 points (4,7,10,20), 82 runners finished

Under 15 Girls JESSICA HURLEY 52nd (15.47), the winner was Sabrina Sinha of Cambridge Harriers (13.51), Kent won the team title with 16 points (1,4,5,6), Hertfordshire were 7th with 126 points (20,23,31,52), 79 runners finished

Under 17 Men ROBBIE LIGHTOWLER U17 6th (15.50), JAMIE DEE U17 21st (16.17), SAM GRIFFITHS U17 53rd (17.13), the winner was Jordan Rowe of Colchester Harriers (15.13), Surrey won the team title with 46 points (4,7,13,22), Hertfordshire were 7th with 110 points (6,21,30,53), 82 runners finished

Under 17 Women SOPHIA PARVIZI-WAYNE U17 (Middlesex) 2nd (17.49), NATALIE CONNOR U17 17th (19.10), the winner was Georgia Fear of Highgate Harriers (17.48), Essex won the team title with 25 points (4,5,7,9), Middlesex were 2nd with 37 points (1,2,13,21), Hertfordshire were 8th with 123 points (17,26,30,50), 73 runners finished

Senior Women SOPHIE CONNOR U23 6th (3rd U23 22.58), REBEKAH GARDINER 19th (23.49), VICTORIA WALKER U23 42nd (9th U23 25.05) the winner was Gemma Kersey U23 of Basildon (21.59), No team result, 63 runners finished

JO KENT V45 WINS BRONZE MEDAL – in the Southern Masters Championships.

Veteran Women JO KENT V45 (Barnet) 3rd (1st V45 24.11), the winner was Julia Briggs V40 of Arena 80 (23.36), 101 runners finished

Veteran Men V60 RUSSELL DEVITT V60 16th (51.18), the winner was Stewart Thorp of Oxford City (41.27), 23 runners finished 

ACTIVE TRAINING WORLD METROPOLITAN LEAGUE – This Saturday 21 December is the third of five fixtures, which is being held at Alexandra Palace, which is accessible by road from junction of Park Road, Priory Road and Muswell Hill (western end). Getting there: W3 bus runs through Palace grounds. W7 runs past western end. BR to Alexandra Palace on Kings Cross line, or Piccadilly Line to Wood Green, then W3. Parking: Paddock Car Park from western end – park adjoins start area. Directions by road: A406 North Circular – exit at B550 Colney Hatch Lane, then onwards to Muswell Hill. The course itself: Again pretty flat! Start and Finish on a grass field, the rest is undulating, with a very steep climb/descent in parkland. You will definitely need spikes. Start times 1.15pm U13 Boys (3km), 1.20pm U13 Girls (3km), not before 1.35pm U17 Men and U15 Boys (4km), not before 1.40pm U17 Women and U15 Girls (4km), not before 1.55pm U20, Senior and Veteran Women (6km), not before 2.35pm U20, Senior and Veteran Men (8km). Note: You do not have to be pre-entered, just turn up and run.

ALLIANZ PARK SPORTS CHRISTMAS/NEW YEAR OPENING HOURS – Which are as follows 23 December 09.00 to 21.00 – 24,25,26 December Closed – 27,28,29,30 December 09.00 to 17.00 – 31 December, 1 January Closed – 2,3 January 09.00 to 21.00. 

SHAFTESBURY BARNET HARRIERS AND NORTH LONDON NETWORK, INDOOR TRAINING AT ALLIANZ PARK – The Network have agreed to promote a 10 week training camp at Allianz Park to improve the skills and knowledge of Network coaches and their athletes in Pole Vault, High Jump, Triple Jump and Long Jump. This is the final camp which is being held on WEDNESDAY 18 DECEMBER.

The session will start at 19.00 and end at 21.00 (warm up starts at 18.30). The cost to athletes to attend per session will be £3 per head for young athletes (U20) and students and £5 per head for seniors to include entry into the facilities.

RESULTS – I endeavor to publish as many results as possible, as my main source is the power of 10 website. Unfortunately all races do not make the PO10. Therefore feel free to e-mail me the race, date and result if you have it, if not the result there is a good chance I can find it on Google.

Thursday 26 December – Boxing Day Bonanza – Takes place at Allianz Park and Starts at 11.00am. £1 entry fee, there will be prizes, raffle and refreshments, and why not come in fancy dress, and in Ray Powell’s case come as normal.

Saturday 4 January – Middlesex ChampionshipsTakes place at Wormwood Scrubs, Linford Christie Stadium, Du Cane Road, W12 0AE. Enter main car park off Du Cane Road (via Artillery Lane), through 6’6” height/width barrier. Extra parking will be available in the enclosed/fenced hospital parking area. Parking is free in all areas at the week-end. Start times 11.00am U13 Boys (3000m), 11.05am U13 Girls (3000m), 11.25am U15 Boys (4000m), 11.30am U15 Girls (4000m), 11.55am U17 & U20 Women (5000m), 12.25pm U17 Men (6000m), 12.55pm U20 Men (8000m), 1.00pm Senior Women (8000m), 1.45pm Senior Men (12000m). Start times 11.00am U11 Girls (1500m), 11.10am U11 Boys (1500m), 11.20am U13 Girls (3000m), 11.30am U13 Boys (3000m), 11.45am U15 Boys & Girls (4500m), 12.05pm U17 Men, U17 & U20 Women (6000m), 12.30pm U20 Men & Senior Women (8000m), 1.15pm Senior Men (12000m). Start/Finish will be close to the bandstand. Note: You will have to be pre-entered by your respective Team Manager. 

Saturday 11 January – Active Training World Metropolitan League Match 4 – Horsenden Hill, Greenford. Changing is available at the Perivale Community Centre, Horsenden Lane South, South Greenford, Greenford UB6 7NP. The course is a short walk away, and this is where you can collect your race numbers. Start times 1.15pm U13 Boys (3km), 1.20pm U13 Girls (3km), not before 1.35pm U17 Men and U15 Boys (4km), not before 1.40pm U17 Women and U15 Girls (4km), not before 1.55pm U20, Senior and Veteran Women (6km), not before 2.35pm U20, Senior and Veteran Men (8km).
