The day started with our Under 11 Boys, in which BEN KASPAR started his season with an outstanding win, DENNYS PASCAL finished 3rd, with the remaining three JOSIAH ALDHAM, TAHA COCKERELL and PRINCE-MOSES JOHN finished 9th, 11th and 12th respectively. Which meant the team won with 156 points, with Victoria Park & Tower Hamlets some 31 points behind.

Next the Under 11 Girls race, the team was led home by SIENNA DARCY finishing 9th, 3rd 9 year-old, with the remaining three LUCIA WANG, ELFIE SHAW and GRACE ROONEY finished 13th, 19th and 23rd respectively. Which meant the team fully deserved their 2nd place with 104 points, behind Woodford Green & Essex Ladies with 110 points.

The Under 13 Boys, started the race with 7 runners, in which CALEB HILTON finished with an excellent 3rd place, EDDIE PASCAL finished 8th, JESSE ABRAHAMS 11th and LADDIE SHAW 15th, with the remaining three ZACK JOSEPHS, SAM DARCY and AARON YACOBI finished 24th, 31st and 47th respectively. The team won with 159 points, the same total as Woodford Green & Essex Ladies, as LADDIE finished 15th to WG&EL 16th position, we were awarded the win.

The Under 13 Girls race, we had a good turnout of 5 runners, led home by MEI HAYAKAWA finishing 9th, with the remaining four AMBER JACKSON, JUI HAYAKAWA, VERA DOUDKO and ELIZA LEIBOWITZ finishing 23rd, 24th, 32nd and 47th respectively.  The team finished in 4th place with 127 points, with Trent Park winning with 170 points. The team has the potential of moving up to the top three, over the coming fixtures.

The Under 15 Boys/Under 17 Men showed they meant business, with ARTHUR and EUAN PHILLIPS finishing 3rd and 7th in the Under 15 age-group and JARED MORRIS 9th in the Under 15 age-group. The remaining four were Under 17 DANIEL BANYARD, JAI DARYANANI, TOMMY NARVAEZ-WHITE and GUY FAWCETT finishing 31st, 37th, 38th and 39th respectively. The team finished in 3rd place with 243 points, with Woodford Green & Essex Ladies winning with 279 points. The team have the opportunity of making up ground over the coming fixtures, Herts Phoenix finished 2nd 9 points in front of us.

The Under 15 Girls/Under 17 Women has been one of our strongest age-groups over the past seasons, but last year the numbers running decreased dramatically. This year POSIE SHAW moved up as an Under 15, and her final season as an Under 13 she finished 2nd, 1st and 1st in the final 3 races, this time she finished 4th Under 15. ELIZABETH DA TERESA finished 39th and PHOEBE MUSIC 47th. The team finished in 10th place, and we need at least 3 more runners over the coming fixtures, to move us up the table.

The Senior Men had 10 runners toe the line, first home was MAX WINFIELD finishing 29th – 5th U20), followed by MARK COTTLE 113th and LUKE FLATLEY 145th (31.53) with FINN MACCARTHY finishing 148th – 17th U20.  The remaining 6 were mainly the Old Uns (sorry lads) TIM BUTLER V55 223rd, JOEL PHILLIPS V45 227th, PAUL MACCARTHY V55 229th, DAVID GREENSTEIN V55 235th, DANNY DIGWEED 260th and BARRY HAWS V50 283rd. The team, who were now in Division 2 finished in a respectable 5th place, so it is not beyond our capability of pulling back the deficit. So, it is action stations at the next fixture at Wormwood Scrubs on 12 November. The Veteran Men’s team finished in 6th place, but were not too many points of the 3rd place.

The Senior Women’s tales of woe carry on, first home was JO KENT V55 (2nd Claim) 39th – 2nd V55 running for Barnet, and ABI GREENE U20 finished in 87th place. The team finished in 9th place.

CURRENT DISTRIBUTION OF SHAFTESBURY INFORMATION Currently I notify members (by email) using “MailChimp”. The reason I changed, was in November 2017 “Gmail” put a limit of 100 addresses that users could send to in a 24-hour period, and currently I send to approximately 850 members each issue.

On seeking technical advice “MailChimp” was recommended as the best way for SBH to go forward. There is one thing you should be aware off is that when you receive an email from me, the footer at the bottom has 4 options, of which one is “Unsubscribe Me From List”. Could I ask you not to select this as if you do you will be automatically removed from my distribution list.
