GB played in Pool C, and finished as runners-up to Canada, having defeated Japan, Ireland New Zealand and the Netherlands losing their only match to Canada 17-8.

In the quarter finals GB played Pool B winners Columbia and were beaten 17-5. Canada went on to become World Champions defeating U.S.A 17-16.

CLIFF GOLDING – Is currently residing in Jersey and over the past year his running has been slightly on the back burner. At the moment he is heavily involved in the swimming scene and decided to dust down his Speedos. Last Wednesday swam from Jersey to France which took 9 hours and 40 minutes, and was a very happy boy (well, a man 6 weeks short of being 60!). The weather didn’t pan out as the forecast indicated and the whole swim was conducted in a Force 4/5!!

He now has two masters, running (first love) and swimming (second love and far more troublesome!), and plans another solo Channel swim next year.
