KRIS ROBERTSON – Congratulations to KRIS who was a member of the Scotland 4 x 400m Relay squad that achieved the Commonwealth Games qualification standard of 3:04.5 in Belgium.

ZOE BROWN – Congratulations to ZOE who vaulted a personal best 4.32m in the Welsh Championships in Cardiff on 1 June, and broken her own Club Record of 4.30m which she set in Tullamore, Ireland on 22 July 2012. Not jumping the gun but ZOE has achieved the Northern Ireland Commonwealth Games standard off 4.20m, so watch this space when the team is announced next week. ZOE competed in the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne where she finished 12th (4.00m), and the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester where she finished 7th (3.90m). Prior to this she competed in the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as a gymnast. Photograph taken at Cardiff attached

EASTERN YOUNG ATHLETES LEAGUE DIVISION 1 ROUND 3 Takes place on Sunday 15 June at Allianz Park, Greenlands Lane, Hendon NW4 1RL. SOUTHERN COUNTIES VETERANS LEAGUE HERTS & NORTH MIDDLESEX DIVISION Takes place on Monday 16 June at Allianz Park, Greenlands Lane, Hendon NW4 1RL. We are competing as a composite team with Barnet & District, you can turn up on the night, but be early please.

WATFORD OPEN GRADED MEETING – Takes place on Wednesday 18 June at Woodside Stadium, Horseshoe Lane, Watford WD25 7HH, nearest large car park if the facility car parks are full is the Leavesden Country Park off College road WD5 0NR (approximately 1100 metres) which is a continuation of Horseshoe Lane. Age-Groups are Under13 up to Veteran Men & Women (Under 13s may only compete in those events allowed by UK Athletics rules). Entry cost is £4 for one event, £6 for two or more events. Entries from 5.30pm, there may be separate desks for different events.

A very much weakened combined team could not cover the many gaps due to exams and injuries particularly on the women’s side. The men were equal 1st whilst the women were 6th. However on a combined basis the team ended in a disappointing final place of 6th on the day which left the team in 3rd after 2 rounds. The team will have to eliminate these gaps in the final 2 meetings to ensure qualification for the National Final in September.
